Here at Stripes Express we’re always here for you wherever you are heading. Whether you’re heading to sit outside one of the many fantastic waterside pubs and restaurants we’re lucky enough to have on our doorstep on the Norfolk Broads, spending the day at the beach or simply heading back to work and would prefer to avoid public transport, we’re here for you whatever the eventuality.
We’re so pleased to be able to transport our customers to see their friends and family once again. With restaurants and amenities opening up there is plenty to see and do in our fine county. Here’s some of our favourite spots if you’re struggling for ideas on places to visit whilst out and about.
Potter Heigham
Whether you’re a local looking to top on household items, or holidaying on the broads. No trip to Potter Heigham is complete without a trip to Lathams. Without doubt you’ll leave the store with more than you intended to purchase. You name it Lathams have got it, so whether you’re holidaying on the Broads or in Potter Heigham for a day out you’ll be sure to find what you’re looking for.
Hickling Broads
Situated on the Upper Thurne river system, Hickling Broad is a wildlife lover’s paradise. Whatever the time of year you’ll be in for a treat. With rare and unusual wildlife residing within the Broads you could be lucky enough to spot
Discover the broad by boat or by foot.
Stalham
Experience the Broads via boat from the largest boatyard in Norfolk. Navigating the waterways from a dayboat is a great way to discover wildlife, spend time with friends and family and perhaps even find a new favourite spot for lunch at one of the many riverside pubs and restaurants.
If you prefer life on dry land the Museum of the Broads is a great way to while away a few hours, discover how tourism changed the Broads and if you’re lucky you can even book a trip on Falcon, their unique Victorian steam boat.
Horsey
Norfolk is full of beautiful beaches, but Horsey Gap is one of our favorites. Explore unspoilt sandy beaches, and escape the crowds at this fantastic coastline. Horsey and Winterton on Sea are home to some of the biggest colonies of grey seals.
East Ruston Gardens
Discover rare and unusual plants within these beautifully curated gardens. Situated just 1 ½ miles from the North Sea. You’ll find a selection of gardens to explore from the ‘Clematis walk’ to the ‘desert wash’ there’s something for every plant lover.
When you’re wary from walking around the garden you can take a seat in one of their two tearooms, or if the weather permits their tea garden.
Outdoor dining
We’re all well versed in outdoor dining, however with summer weather finally here eating outside is a much more pleasant experience. You’ll find many riverside pubs along the Broads, and plenty of fantastic restaurants like the Ingham Swan inland for fantastic dining experiences.
