As a bustling taxi company, we recognise the importance of reducing our carbon emissions without compromising our level of service. At Stripes Express, we’re not new to electric vehicles and we’ve recently chosen to upgrade the electrical vehicle (EV) in our fleet.
In October 2020, the Nissan Leaf joined our fleet as our first EV, transporting our customers across Norfolk. The majority of our time is spent driving along the stunning Norfolk Broads, around the Norfolk coastline and into the fine city of Norwich. By utilising this EV and using it as much as the battery would physically allow, we’ve continued to do our part in reducing pollution and improving the air quality in Norfolk. As well as the benefits to the environment, our customers can enjoy the expert features of this car including DAB radio.
Our Nissan Leaf has been a much loved addition to our fleet and over the last three years continued research has helped us learn that in just over a year, one electric car on the road can save an average 1.5 million grams of CO2. That’s the equivalent of four return flights from London to Barcelona.
With the evolution of electric vehicles, we’ve decided to upgrade our Nissan Leaf to the MG5 long-range EV.
With this upgrade, we can increase our reduction in carbon emissions month on month, and further our contribution towards maintaining our beautiful county of Norfolk.
Electric cars are becoming more and more popular with increased mileage and quicker charging. They have become a much more viable option for cab firms looking to reduce their carbon emissions.
And, over the past decade, research has shown that electric cars are better for the environment. They emit fewer greenhouse gases and air pollutants than petrol or diesel cars, even when you take into account their actual production and the electricity generation to keep them running.
The main benefit of EVs is the contribution that they can make towards improving air quality. With no tailpipe on these new builds, the purely electric cars produce no carbon dioxide emissions when driving, therefore reducing air pollution considerably. Put simply, electric cars are cleaning the streets and making Norfolk a better place to be a pedestrian, cyclist, and just about anyone.
